About Qualifying For Medicare
By Darwin
The U.S. government provides Medicare insurance to senior citizens, (that is, people 65 and over) and people with specific medical conditions. The Center for Medicaid Services (CMS) governs the program. In order to take full advantage of medicare, visit your doctor to get the right forms and assistance with details on your application.
You should contact the Social Security office to learn more on the current Medicare requirements for coverage, since they tend to change with time. With that in mind, this is what Medicare is covering.
For Individuals
Everyone above 65 is automatically eligible for Medicare health insurance. Aside from that, you could qualify for Medicare insurance if you've got a medical problem that has disabled you for two years. Anybody that already receives Social Security benefits will be directly enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B. Due to the fact that Part B has a premium payment requirement, you could choose to not include Part B coverage in your application. People who are automatically qualified for Medicare (due to their age) will be informed a couple of months before their 65th birth date regarding the details they're going to need in order to start the registration process.
If your eligibility for Medicare is based on need rather than based on age, you'll have to fill out a separate application in order to begin getting benefits and coverage. This form is available at your Social Security office. If assistance is needed, you'll find a social security office. When you are on the Social Security website, check for the "Find a Social Security Office" link, and that will bring you to the office location tool.
For Providers
